A considered installation starts with a clean frame and a little patience. SnugMag uses a frame-mounted hook-and-loop fixing system, so the textile can be attached around the doorway without installing a curtain pole. The important details are surface preparation, alignment and an easy passage through the centre.
Lay out the kit before you start
Unfold the curtain on a clean surface and identify its top edge and centre opening. Place the fixing tape and instruction card within reach. Check the supplied kit against the product contents and use the instructions included with your curtain as the final reference.
Offer the curtain up to the frame before applying adhesive. A second pair of hands can help keep the top level while you check the height. Make sure there is enough flat frame for the fixing tape and that the fabric will not catch on the door or trail across the passage.
Prepare, position, attach
- Prepare the surface. Remove dust and let the frame become completely dry. The fixing surface should be sound and suitable for adhesive.
- Position the fixing tape. Follow the supplied instructions around the top and sides, keeping the fixing line straight. Press the tape down evenly and respect any adhesive settling time stated in the kit.
- Attach the curtain. Start at the top centre, then work outwards and down the sides. Keep the centre edges aligned rather than pulling the textile tightly across the frame.
- Test the passage. Walk through slowly and release the fabric. Check that the centre edges can return together and that the lower edge remains clear.
Adjust before adding extra fixings
If the centre seam remains open, revisit the alignment first. Excess tension, a tilted top edge or fabric catching at the bottom can prevent the two sides meeting. Detach and reposition the hook-and-loop connection rather than forcing the seam together.
Optional pins require a suitable frame and leave small holes. Adhesive can also affect paint or finishes when removed. If you rent, check the surface and any permission needed before fitting; a no-drill method does not promise mark-free removal.
